Terms of use

Last updated 22 October 2026

Plain terms for a free tool. Use it lawfully, keep your own backups, and understand the limits of browser-based processing.

The service

PDF Kept provides free browser-based tools for working with PDF files. The software runs in your browser. We do not store, inspect or transmit your documents.

Your responsibilities

  • You must have the right to process the files you use with these tools.
  • Do not use the service for unlawful content or to infringe anyone's rights.
  • Keep your own copies. Processing is irreversible in the sense that we cannot recover an earlier version for you.

No warranty

The tools are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Browser memory limits, unusual PDF features or damaged files can cause a conversion to fail or produce an imperfect result. Always check important documents before relying on them.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Electronic signatures

The Sign tool adds a visual electronic signature. It is not a certificate-based digital signature and does not verify identity or provide tamper evidence. For agreements that require verified identity, use a dedicated e-signature service.

Advertising

The service is supported by advertising. Advertisements are served by third parties; we do not endorse the products advertised.

Open source

The service relies on open source software. Licenses and copyright notices are listed on the licenses page.
