About this tool
Splitting is usually about sending less: one chapter to a client, one invoice to accounting, or page 40 of a 300-page scan. Uploading the whole document to do that is unnecessary.
This tool copies the pages you ask for into new documents and downloads them individually or as a zip. Everything happens in the browser tab.
How to split PDF
- 1 Add the PDF you want to split and check the page count shown.
- 2 Choose custom ranges, every page separately, or every N pages per file.
- 3 Download one file, or a zip when the split produces several files.
Good to know
- Each comma-separated range becomes its own file — "1-3, 4-6" produces two files.
- Ranges are validated against the real page count before any work starts.
Frequently asked questions
What range formats are supported?
Single pages and ranges: 4, 1-3, 8-, and combinations such as 1-3, 5, 9-. The end of a range defaults to the last page, so "8-" means page 8 to the end.
Can I split every page into a separate file?
Yes. Choose "Every page" and the tool produces one PDF per page, packaged as a zip when there is more than one.
Will the split files keep links and metadata?
Page content and document metadata are preserved. Internal links that point to pages left behind in the original document are not rewritten.
