About this tool
A scan comes out sideways, or a form was saved in landscape by mistake. Rotating is a small fix that most tools require an upload for.
This tool changes the page rotation flag in the PDF, so the file opens correctly everywhere without re-rendering or losing quality.
How to rotate PDF
- 1 Add the PDF and choose 90°, 180° or 270°.
- 2 Apply the rotation to all pages, or pick individual pages from the preview grid.
- 3 Download the corrected file.
Good to know
- Rotation is metadata-level: no pixels are re-encoded, so quality is untouched.
- The rotation is relative to each page’s current rotation, not to the original scan.
Frequently asked questions
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. Only the page rotation value changes; text and images are not re-rendered.
Can I rotate just one page of a long document?
Yes. Choose "Selected pages" and click the pages in the preview grid. This is common when one page of a scan was fed in upside down.
Why does the page still look sideways in my viewer?
A few older viewers ignore the rotation flag. Re-saving the file in a desktop editor, or using compression here, bakes the rotation into the page content instead.
