Cookie policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
The tools themselves do not need cookies. What is stored falls into two buckets: analytics, to measure visits, and advertising, to serve ads.
What we set ourselves
No cookies. PDF Kept does not create accounts, so there is no session cookie, no login cookie and no preference cookie. Nothing about your files is stored in cookies or local storage.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics, loaded through the GA4 property linked to our Firebase project, sets two first-party cookies on this domain to measure page visits. They are written by Google's script acting on our behalf, not by our own code.
_ga— distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years.-
_ga_<container-id>— keeps the state of the current session. Expires after 2 years.
These cookies hold a randomly generated identifier. They never contain a file name or anything about the document you processed. They are set on your first visit. To object, install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or block cookies in your browser settings.
Advertising cookies
When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense may set cookies to limit how often an ad is shown, measure performance and — with your consent — personalise ads. Ad placement is decided automatically by Google, not chosen by us per page. These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and are governed by Google's cookie and privacy policies.
Consent
Where a consent message applies — in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — it appears from a Google-certified consent management platform before personalised advertising cookies are used. Non-personalised ads may be served without personalised-ad cookies. You can review or change your advertising choices at any time through Google's Ads Settings, or the privacy icon shown on individual ads.
Managing cookies
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not affect the tools: they work without any cookies at all.
