Privacy policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
The short version: your documents are processed on your device and are never uploaded. This page explains the little data the site does handle.
Your documents
PDF Kept has no server that receives documents. When you open a file, the browser reads it from your disk into memory, JavaScript processes it in the tab, and the result is written back to your device. Files are never transmitted to us or to a third party.
Because processing happens locally, we cannot see, access, recover or delete your files. Closing the tab releases them from memory.
Information we do receive
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp for security and abuse prevention.
- Email. If you write to xiyanit@gmail.com, we receive your address and message. Do not send documents you consider confidential.
- No accounts. There is no sign-up, so we hold no profile, password or usage history tied to you.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, on the GA4 property linked to our Firebase project
(pdf-kept), to understand which tools and pages are useful. It records standard web
analytics: the page URL, the referring page, an approximate location derived from your IP address at
country or city level, device and browser type, language, and how long a visit lasts. It stores the
identifiers described in our cookie policy.
It does not record your files. File names, contents and sizes never reach Google Analytics or any other server — the tools process everything inside your browser tab.
These analytics cookies are set on your first visit, not only after a consent choice. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland and you object to that, install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or block the script with any content blocker — the tools keep working either way.
Google may associate this analytics data with the advertising data described below.
Advertising and cookies
The site is free and supported by advertising. When advertising is enabled it is served by Google AdSense using their automatic placement product, which decides where ads appear on a page; we do not hand-pick individual ad positions. Google may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure ads and, where you consent, to personalise them. Google's handling of that data is described in Google's own privacy policy.
Where a consent message applies — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — it appears before personalised advertising cookies are used, and non-personalised ads may be served without them. You can review or change your advertising choices at any time through Google's Ads Settings, or the privacy icon shown on individual ads.
We do not sell personal information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data, and to object to personalised advertising. Requests can be sent to xiyanit@gmail.com. For advertising data held by Google, use Google's privacy controls.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
